Boston Sports Day

The Best Sports City in the Country

More than any other city, Boston is a sports town. No matter the time of the year, the city goes nuts for its four teams, and it becomes an event when the teams are winning.

First and foremost baseball rules the roost. The Red Sox have always sold out Fenway Park and now with two championships under its belt, fans have become Sox crazy. With front line starting pitching and attracting the top free agents on offense, the Red Sox have become the front line attraction in Boston.

But when baseball ends, that’s when the real sports begin. The Patriots have been one of the blue chip franchises in football over the past 10 years and tickets for Gillette Stadium have been at a premium. This coming season with Tom Brady coming back from an injury will mean the Pats will be on top of the league again.

There are also the Celtics, who have had a revival the last few seasons after they acquired Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen a couple of years ago. With those two players, the Celtics have become a force in the NBA like they were back when Larry Bird graced the floor of the Boston Garden.

Speaking of the Garden, the other team at TD Banknorth Garden, the Bruins have become one of the best teams in the NHL. Led by goaltender Tim Thomas, the B’s have raised their level of play which reminds fans of the days of Phil Esposito.

Of course all of this can change, but right now teams in Beantown have made Boston the best sports city in the country. So much so that people won’t want to go to a concert.
